《ポムの樹と不思議な果実》

イーショ地方、エタナル宮殿より南東。

みはらしの丘に、一本の大木がありました。

その名は――ポムの樹。

月が満ち、その輝きを増す夜には、
黄金色の不思議な果実が実るといいます。

その果実を求めて旅に出たのが、
ベルルとビスト。

ふたりは旅の途中で、
喜びも、怒りも、哀しみも、楽しさも、
たくさんの時間を分かち合いながら、
ようやくポムの樹へ辿り着きました。

丘の入口には、一枚の立札。

「手をとり歩めば、ただそれだけ」

ふたりは手を取り、
茂みをかき分け、光の射す方へ進みます。

丘の真ん中に立つポムの樹。

満月に照らされた枝には、
ひときわ輝く黄金の果実が実っていました。

ふたりはひとつの果実に、
一緒にかじりつきました。

すると――

果実が、そっと語りかけたのです。

「共に歩み、互いを思いやり、
手を取り合うことを忘れぬように。」

……ガサガサ。

そのとき、樹から何かが落ちてきました。

足元にあったのは、

「不思議な果実」
「十字の墓」
「心の中に髑髏」

――そんな意匠を刻んだ胸飾り。

ふたりは顔を見合わせ、
こころにひとつの想いを誓いました。

「墓まで一緒。」

胸飾りを身につけ、
ふたりはポムの樹を後にします。

向かう先は、遥か東――
フィリアの眺望。

その旅の先に何が待っているのか。

それは、まだ誰も知らない物語です。

The Pom Tree and the Mysterious Fruit

Southeast of the Eternal Palace, in the region of Esho,

there stood a great tree upon a hill overlooking the land.

Its name was—

the Pom Tree.

It was said that whenever the moon became full and its light grew brighter,

golden, mysterious fruits would appear upon its branches.

Hearing of this wondrous fruit,
Berlu and Bisto set out on a journey to find it.

Along the way, they shared countless moments together—

joy and anger,
sorrow and laughter—

until at last, they reached the Pom Tree.

At the entrance to the hill stood a single sign:

“Take each other’s hand, and simply walk.”

So they took each other’s hand
and made their way through the bushes,
following the light shining ahead.

At the center of the hill stood the Pom Tree.

Beneath the full moon,
a single golden fruit shone brightly among its branches.

Together, they bit into the fruit.

And then—

the fruit quietly spoke to them.

“Walk together.
Care for one another.
Never forget the importance of holding each other’s hand.”

…Rustle, rustle.

Something suddenly fell from the tree.

At their feet lay a small pendant,
bearing the symbols of

“the mysterious fruit,”
“a cross-shaped grave,”
and “a skull within the heart.”

The two looked at one another.

And within their hearts,
they made a single promise.

“Together, until the grave.”

Wearing the pendant and carrying their precious promise,

they left the Pom Tree behind.

Their destination was far to the east—

the Vista of Philia.

What would await them at the end of their journey?

That was a story yet to be told.
