《ホライゾ海岸の宝砂》 ― 炎の彩りの起源 ―

地平線がやわらかく弧を描く海岸――
ホライゾ海岸。

空と海の境目が溶け合うその場所には、
古くから、光を宿す不思議な砂があると伝えられている。

朝、世界が目覚めるその瞬間。
夕、すべてが静かに染まるそのひととき。

空を染める光は、ただ消えていくのではなく――
この海岸へと降り注ぎ、砕け、
やがて小さな結晶となるのだという。

それはまるで、
朝焼けや夕焼けが形を持ったかのような、
かすかに輝く欠片。

長い歳月のなかで、
波に磨かれ、風に運ばれ、
その結晶たちはやがて砂へと姿を変えていく。

人々はそれを、
**宝砂（ほうさ）**と呼んだ。

手に取れば、ただの砂のようでいて、
光にかざせば、どこか奥に色を秘めている。

そして――

その宝砂を炎にくべるとき、
眠っていた彩りが目を覚ます。

赤、橙、金、そして名もなき色たち。
炎の中で揺らめきながら、
それらは鮮やかな命を帯びていく。

それは、ただ色を与えるのではない。

光の記憶を呼び覚ます、
そんな彩りだった。

やがて人々は、その力に気づき、
宝砂を用いた彩りの技を編み出していった。

炎と砂、そして光。
その三つが重なり合うことで生まれる色は、
各地へと広まり、装飾の技として受け継がれていく。

それはいつしか、
ただ美しさを飾るためのものではなく、

身につける者の内にある“光”を
そっと引き出すためのものへと変わっていった。

ホライゾ海岸の宝砂。

それは、空が残していった記憶。
そして――

まだ言葉にならない色たちが、
この世界に生まれ落ちた場所なのかもしれない。

そして――

その技は時を越え、
かたちを変えながら今もなお受け継がれている。

現代ではそれは、
七宝（エナメル）と呼ばれる技法として
知られているともいわれている。

“The Jeweled Sands of the Horizon Coast”

— The Origin of Flame-born Colors —

Along a الساح where the horizon bends in a gentle arc—
there lies the Horizon Coast.

In that place, where sky and sea seem to melt into one another,
it has long been said that there exists a mysterious sand that holds light within it.

At dawn, when the world awakens.
At dusk, when everything is softly dyed in quiet hues.

The light that paints the sky does not simply fade away—
it falls upon this shore, shatters,
and becomes tiny crystals.

Like fragments of sunrise and sunset given form,
they glimmer faintly, almost as if remembering the sky.

Over long ages,
polished by waves and carried by wind,
those crystals slowly take the shape of sand.

People came to call it
“Hōsa” — the Jeweled Sand.

In the hand, it feels like nothing more than ordinary grains.
Yet when held to the light,
it seems to conceal colors deep within.

And then—

when this jeweled sand is placed into flame,
the colors that once slept begin to awaken.

Crimson, amber, gold, and colors yet unnamed.
They flicker within the fire,
taking on a vivid, living presence.

It does not merely add color.

It awakens the memory of light itself.

In time, people came to understand its power,
and from it, they wove new techniques of color and adornment.

Flame, sand, and light—
when these three intertwine,
they give birth to colors that spread across lands,
passed down as the art of ornamentation.

And before long,
it became more than a means of beauty.

It became a way
to gently draw forth the “light” that resides within the wearer.

The Jeweled Sands of the Horizon Coast—

they are the memory left behind by the sky.

And perhaps—

the very place where colors, not yet given names,
first fell into this world.

And then—

that technique has crossed the ages,
changing its form,
and is still passed down even now.

In the present day,
it is said to be known
as a technique called
cloisonné (enamel).
