騎士団長たちが指環に込めたモノ
十二支騎士団の団長たちは、
指環を拵えるにあたり、何度も意見を交わした。
想いは多く、言葉は尽きず、
話し合いは三日にも及んだという。
いくつもの図案と構想の中から、
ひとつのかたちが選ばれ、やがて指環となった。
中央の円と槍のような意匠は、
死地を越えてきた陣形の記憶。
上部の装飾には、かつて王より贈られた指環への敬意が込められている。
下部に連なる鎖は、騎士団の絆。
左右で異なる模様は、
「個々はそれぞれに異なる存在である」ことを示している。
向かって右に刻まれた十字架は、
世界をひとつにつなぐという決意の証。
どんな戦いも、ひとりでは成し遂げられない。
十二人が力を合わせ、補い合うことで、
不可能すら可能に変えていく――
そんな願いも、この指環には託されている。
中央には、それぞれの団旗にも使われる
“証”が嵌め込まれ、指環は完成する。
これは、
第七支団長 ナック・ケファロスの指環だ。
多様性と、画一性
この指環は、東西南北すべてが非対称。
それは、多様性を表している。
十二支騎士団の多様性とは、
異なる特徴や特性を持つ者たちが、
共に存在すること。
他者と共に在るからこそ、
あなたは、あなたでいられる。
けれど――
指環の内側は、東西南北すべてが対称だ。
それは画一性。
外見や立場、役割が違っていても、
内には同じ【こころ】があり、血潮が流れている。
家族を想い、仲間を想い、国を想う気持ちは、
きっと、みな同じだろう。
そんな想いが、
この小さな指環の内と外に、静かに刻まれている。
――あなたなら、この指環に
どんな想いを刻むだろう。
多様であること。
それでも、同じこころを持つこと。
その両方を胸に、
あなたは、誰と、何を守りたいだろうか・・・
What the Knight Commanders Entrusted to the Ring
The commanders of the Twelve Zodiac Knights
exchanged their thoughts again and again
when the ring was first conceived.
There were too many feelings to hold,
too many words to be spoken—
the discussions are said to have lasted three days.
From countless sketches and visions,
one form was finally chosen,
and in time, it became a ring.
The circle at its center and the spear-like motif
carry the memory of formations that survived death itself.
The ornament at the top is a gesture of reverence—
an homage to a ring once bestowed by the king.
The chain that runs beneath speaks of the bond between the knights.
The differing patterns on the left and right declare that
each individual is, and must be, different.
The cross engraved on the right side
is a symbol of resolve—
a vow to bind the world into one.
No battle can ever be completed alone.
Only when twelve stand together, supporting one another,
can the impossible be turned into the possible.
That wish, too, is entrusted to this ring.
At its center, a crest—
the same emblem borne upon each banner—
is set in place, and the ring is completed.
This is the ring of
the Seventh Commander, Knack Kephalos.
Diversity, and Unity
This ring is asymmetrical in all directions—
north, south, east, and west.
That asymmetry is the mark of diversity.
For the Twelve Zodiac Knights, diversity means this:
that those with different traits and strengths
exist together.
It is because others exist beside you
that you are able to be who you are.
And yet—
the inside of the ring is perfectly symmetrical
in every direction.
This is unity.
No matter how different one’s appearance, role, or station may be,
within flows the same heart, the same blood.
The feelings of caring for family,
for companions,
for one’s homeland—
surely, they are the same for all.
Such thoughts are quietly engraved
on both the inside and the outside
of this small ring.
—And you,
what kind of feeling would you engrave upon it?
To be diverse,
and yet to share the same heart.
Holding both within you,
who would you choose to protect—
and what would you stand for?
